2008 Kentucky Icelandic Horse Show

Sval∂ifarí is a founding sponsor of the Kentucky Icelandic Horse Show which has been held each November since 2003 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. The Kentucky Icelandic Horse Show is officially sanctioned by the United States Icelandic Horse Congress and draws horses and riders from all over—Minnesota to Florida and Oklahoma to New York.

Clinics

We hold clinics at the farm during the year. Outstanding riders and trainers from Iceland join Andrew in presenting clinics on specific gaits, general riding and competition skills, and horsekeeping tips such as shoeing. Clinic dates and topics will be posted here as soon as they are confrmed.

Demos

Andrew and members of our “farm family” also give demos at shows and fairs around the region. Our beautiful and spirited Icelandic ambassadors are always a hit.

Open House, July 2007

We want to thank all those who joined us at our open house in July. Though the Kentucky weather was predictably hot we had a great time. It was wonderful to see the familiar faces of our longtime friends and customers as well as meeting people new to the Icelandic breed.

We are planning a clinic this fall to cover the training of young horses from the ground up and how it affects the riding of your fully developed horse. We hope you will join us. Dates and details will be posted soon.

Mark your calendars now and prepare to attend the World Equestrian Games in Lexington at the Kentucky Horse Park in 2010. This is the first time the competition will be held outside of Europe.
